How many seconds of AI video does 1,000 credits buy on each engine
A full table of seconds per 1,000 credits across all five engines on the studio shelf — silent and voiced, every resolution, with the cheapest row named.

Every AI video pricing comparison online quotes dollars per second. That is a currency that works for a one-engine blog where the engine is the comparison; it does not work for a shelf where five engines bill from the same wallet and the user's question is how far 1,000 credits goes. Nobody publishes that table because nobody runs a shelf with one credit currency across five engines. We do, and the table below is the one you look at before you press render.
A note on what a credit is: 1,000 credits is $10 on the Lite plan or a $10 top-up pack, 1,000 credits is $7.50 at the Creator plan rate ($45 for 6,000 credits), and 1,000 credits is $5.50 at the Studio annual rate. Those are the three columns the cost-per-second column at the bottom of each table reads under.
The table
Seconds you get for 1,000 credits, by engine, by resolution, by audio toggle. Floor-rounded (we bill whole seconds, so 1,000 ÷ 70 is 14 seconds not 14.28).
Seedance 2.5 (always-on audio, one price for voiced or silent)
| resolution | credits per second | seconds for 1,000 credits | one $25 top-up (2,750 credits) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 480p | 35 | 28s | 78s |
| 720p | 70 | 14s | 39s |
| 1080p | 130 | 7s | 21s |
Seedance 2.5 is the most expensive row on the shelf and the engine with the longest single render (30 seconds). A $25 top-up buys you one 30s hero shot at 1080p (390 credits × 3 shots = 1,170 of your 2,750, leaving room for ~70 seconds at 480p for the rest of the scene).
Kling O3 Pro (720p only, audio toggle, cheapest voiced second on the shelf)
| mode | credits per second | seconds for 1,000 credits | one $25 top-up (2,750 credits) |
|---|---|---|---|
| voiced 720p | 30 | 33s | 91s |
| silent 720p | 24 | 41s | 114s |
Kling is where the identity-first shots live. Thirty-three seconds of voiced 720p for 1,000 credits is the thinnest voiced second on the shelf, and the engine holds a character across every cut inside those thirty-three seconds. The 24-credit silent rate is also the second-cheapest silent row anywhere on the shelf (Veo 1080p is 20).
Seedance 2.0 (always-on audio, one price for voiced or silent)
| resolution | credits per second | seconds for 1,000 credits | one $25 top-up (2,750 credits) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 480p | 22 | 45s | 125s |
| 720p | 45 | 22s | 61s |
| 1080p | 70 | 14s | 39s |
Seedance 2.0 at 480p is the cheapest voiced second on the whole shelf — 45 seconds for 1,000 credits, two and a half minutes for a $25 top-up. The engine caps a single render at 15 seconds and nine references, which is enough room for a tight b-roll cutaway or a product beauty beat but not a 25s identity hero.
Seedance 2.0 Fast (always-on audio, 480p/720p only)
| resolution | credits per second | seconds for 1,000 credits | one $25 top-up (2,750 credits) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 480p | 25 | 40s | 110s |
| 720p | 50 | 20s | 55s |
The row to render drafts on. 40 seconds for 1,000 credits at 480p, voiced, up to 15 seconds in one shot — fine for a tight captioned vertical where the caption carries half the real estate and the engine does not have to invent much.
Veo 3.1 Fast (audio toggle, 720p/1080p at the same price)
| mode | credits per second | seconds for 1,000 credits | one $25 top-up (2,750 credits) |
|---|---|---|---|
| voiced 720p | 30 | 33s | 91s |
| silent 720p | 20 | 50s | 137s |
| voiced 1080p | 30 | 33s | 91s |
| silent 1080p | 20 | 50s | 137s |
Veo is the one engine where 1080p is quoted at the 720p price — Google holds the Fast tier flat across resolution. The silent rate at 20 credits a second is the cheapest silent row on the shelf, which matters for an establishing wide shot you cover with music rather than dialogue. The length is capped at 4, 6 or 8 seconds (not a range), so one $25 top-up at 1080p silent buys you seventeen full 8-second shots.
The rankings for 1,000 credits
Running the whole shelf as a single ladder, cheapest voiced second first:
| rank | row | seconds for 1,000 credits | plan math on Creator ($0.0075/credit) | plan math on Studio annual ($0.0055/credit) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Seedance 2.0, 480p (voiced) | 45s | $0.167 /s | $0.122 /s |
| 2 | Seedance 2.0 Fast, 480p (voiced) | 40s | $0.188 /s | $0.138 /s |
| 3 | Veo 3.1 Fast, 720p/1080p (silent) | 50s | $0.150 /s | $0.110 /s |
| 4 | Kling O3 Pro, 720p (silent) | 41s | $0.183 /s | $0.134 /s |
| 5 | Kling O3 Pro, 720p (voiced) | 33s | $0.225 /s | $0.165 /s |
| 6 | Veo 3.1 Fast, 720p/1080p (voiced) | 33s | $0.225 /s | $0.165 /s |
| 7 | Seedance 2.0, 720p (voiced) | 22s | $0.338 /s | $0.248 /s |
| 8 | Seedance 2.0 Fast, 720p (voiced) | 20s | $0.375 /s | $0.275 /s |
| 9 | Seedance 2.5, 480p (voiced) | 28s | $0.263 /s | $0.193 /s |
| 10 | Seedance 2.5, 720p (voiced) | 14s | $0.525 /s | $0.385 /s |
| 11 | Seedance 2.0, 1080p (voiced) | 14s | $0.525 /s | $0.385 /s |
| 12 | Seedance 2.5, 1080p (voiced) | 7s | $0.975 /s | $0.715 /s |
Thirteen rows across five engines. The gap between the cheapest second (Seedance 2.0 at 480p, $0.122/s on Studio annual) and the most expensive (Seedance 2.5 at 1080p, $0.715/s on Studio annual) is about six times. Which row the shot renders on is a six-times decision.
What this means for a credit plan
Four plans sell credits on this shelf: Lite at $10 for 1,000 credits, Starter at $18 for 2,250, Creator at $45 for 6,000, Studio at $99 for 15,000. Top-ups add 1,000 (for $10), 2,750 (for $25), 6,000 (for $50) or 13,000 (for $100) to any plan.
Running the finished-video math on the cheapest voiced row (Seedance 2.0, 480p, 45s per 1,000 credits):
- Lite ($10, 1,000 credits): 45 seconds a month at 480p voiced on 2.0. Enough for one 30s vertical plus a 15s cutaway.
- Creator ($45, 6,000 credits): 270 seconds a month. Four and a half minutes of finished video.
- Studio ($99, 15,000 credits): 675 seconds a month. Eleven and a quarter minutes.
Running the identity-first row (Kling O3 Pro, 720p voiced, 33s per 1,000 credits):
- Lite: 33 seconds a month. One monologue scene.
- Creator: 198 seconds a month. Three and a quarter minutes.
- Studio: 495 seconds a month. Eight and a quarter minutes.
The two numbers are not the same thing — 2.0 at 480p is captioned-vertical b-roll with always-on audio; Kling at 720p voiced is identity-held monologue — so the plan math has to be run on the row the specific scene renders on, not an average. Our quote preview card does that per shot before you press render, which is the point of the number sitting on the card.
Why nobody else publishes this table
Every pricing page out there is quoting one vendor's dollars per second against another vendor's dollars per second. That number is the right one for an API buyer picking a provider. It is the wrong one for a creator who wants to know how far a $25 top-up goes on a shot — the API cost is not what the creator pays, and the creator's wallet is one currency not five.
A credit is a currency a shelf has to invent before this table exists. The dollars-per-second column at the bottom of the ranking is the floor — the credit price is a function of the plan tier, so a creator on Studio annual sees a thinner cost per second than a creator on Lite does for the same shot. Nothing about the engine changes; the credit's dollar value does.
The right place to run this math for your actual scene is the quote card in the studio, which asks for engine, length, resolution and audio, and returns the credit cost and the plan math. For planning a month of content against a plan, the ranking table above is the right starting point — pick the row your shots render on and divide your plan's credits by the per-second rate.
The 1,000-credit table is a shelf's answer to a one-vendor question. Which is the thing the shelf is on the shelf for.
